Competitor Zone

Welcome

Welcome to our new Competitor Zone, an area of the site dedicated to our competitors. Everything you need to know about competing at Hickstead is included within this zone, along with some very useful FAQ's. If you cannot find what you're looking for though, please do not hesitate to call the Hickstead Office.

If you would like a postal copy of any of this year's schedules please send an SAE with 98p postage to the Hickstead Office, stipulating which show you would like it for, and whether it is for showing or jumping.

General

Are dogs allowed on the showground?

Yes, but they must be kept on a lead at all times. Any dogs left in vehicles and in distress will be forcibly removed by the Organisers.

Is there electric hook-up in the Stablefield?

There are now a number of areas in the Stablefield with electric on a first come first saved basis. Please ask the Stable Manager on arrival and he will do his best to park you in a suitable area. Electric hook-up costs £75 and is only available to those exhibitors staying for the duration of the show.

Can I pay by credit/debit card in the Stablefield?

Unfortunately we can only accept cash in the Stablefield. VAT receipts will be issued upon request.

Is there a Stablefield shop?

Yes, there is a newsagent style shop at the bottom of the Stablefield, that sells most essentials. Please do tell us if there are additional items you'd like us to stock and we will do our best to do so.

Who should I make cheques payable to?

Please make cheques payable to Hickstead Ltd.

Horses

Do I need to bring my own horse feed and bedding?

Falcon Equine Feeds are our Official Bedding and Feed Supplier, and have a fully stocked shop in the stablefield. Where possible feed and bedding will be delivered to your stable door.

How do I call a vet?

Please contact the Stablefield Manager at his office, or any of his staff on site, or on the on duty mobile +44 7989 414 848. Please make sure you have noted the location and details of the incident.

Stabling

How can I stay longer if I only have a day stable booked?

Please see the Stablefield Manager who will be happy to help, but do not just help yourself to another stable. Please remember that the stable changeover time is strictly 5pm - anyone who has not vacated their stable by this time will be required to pay for another night before leaving the showground.

Will my stallion be stabled with my other horses?

Please make a note on your stabling form and the Organisers will do their best to ensure that all of your stables are next to each other.

Does my stallion need electric stable wire?

Yes, to ensure the safety of all of the horses in the stablefield, it is now compulsory to use electric wire around the top of all stallions' stables.... with the exception of the miniature horse class competitors!
