The KHHP sisters; Charlie Howell, Saskia Meadows and Rosie
Ross, were 'doing it for themselves' in the opening of season
tournaments at the All England Polo Club, Hickstead, with a
victorious win in the UberPolo 0-3 Goal Ladies Arena Tournament
final on Sunday 27th November.
With three all-filly teams entering the fray in the ultimate
quest of girl power to be crowned the queens of the Hickstead
arena, visiting side KHHP fought a courageous and tactical
encounter to take the title against the opposing home forces of KSJ
Consulting Ltd; Katie Jenkins, Alex Grant and Catriona Baker, and
Hawksfield; Maxine Betteridge, Claire Donnelly, and Sarah Hotston
half-shirting with Louise Potton.
The UberPolo Ladies, reigning champions of the UberPolo Battle
of the Sexes Challenge, took to the arena on the qualifying day in
an endeavour to defend their title, with RCBPC's Alex Jacob making
the trip from her Berkshire homeland, accompanied by sister Nell
and teaming up with Hickstead pro Sarah Wiseman. Whilst the boys
were well beaten in the UberPolo his versus hers finale in its
first holding last season, Team Hickstead Men (Chas Taylor, John
Bunn and Caio Sorzana) re-established their male pride with a
succession of stunning victories, against the UberPolo Ladies on
the opening day, and the Eastwood Stud Ladies (Aurora Eastwood,
Heloise Lorentzen and Claire Donnelly) in Sunday's
final.
