How do we enter?
Schedules are available to download from the Hickstead website, and all entries must be completed online. www.hickstead.co.uk/entries-results-schooling/the-all-england-dressage-festival/ Regrettably, we cannot accept entries made by telephone, fax, email or social media messaging.
When do entries open?
Entries open on 1st March 2021. Entries strictly via the website only www.hickstead.co.uk/entries-results-schooling/the-all-england-dressage-festival/
When do entries close?
Entries close on 30th April 2021. If oversubscribed the secretariat will follow BD rule 59.
Can I buy stabling?
Yes you can. Temporary Stables cost £50 for one night, £90 two nights, £120 three nights/duration. Permanent Stables (may have some bedding) are £45 for one night, £85 two nights, £115 three nights/duration. Can I buy daily stabling?
This will be subject to availability
Can I purchase hook-up?
Yes you can. Hook up is available for the duration only at £75 for the duration.
What is the difference between permanent and temporary stabling?
The temporary stables are from Woodhouse and are the of the type that you are used to seeing at National Shows. They will be on grass. The permanent stabling may have some bedding in it and will have been used by other horses prior to your arrival. Muck will have been removed prior to your occupation.
What is the earliest I can arrive?
The showground will be open to competitors from 12 noon on Thursday 20th May 2021.
Are forage and shavings available to buy on site?
Shavings will be available to buy from the Stable Manager: please ask at the Stable Manager’s Office at the entrance to the Stable field when you arrive at Hickstead. If booked online with your entries shavings will cost £8.50 per bale, on site it will be £10 per bale. Regrettably, feed, hay and haylage will not be available to buy on site, so please ensure you bring enough with you.
Will there be a general exercise arena?
Yes. You are permitted to exercise in the general exercise ring at the bottom entrance to the Stable Field. This will be stewarded and opening times will be published nearer the time. All grass arenas are strictly out of bounds.
Will there be arena walks and/or arena familiarisation?
There will be arena walks and familiarisation during the show. We will give exact details nearer the time but hope to offer both after close of competition each day and on the Thursday 20th May.
Will there be an on-call farrier and veterinary surgeon?
There will be an on-call farrier and veterinary surgeon and details will on display at the Stable Manager’s office during the show.
Are spectators allowed?
We hope so, but of course this all depends upon where the government guidelines are on spectators attending an event such as this
Are tickets required for entry to the showground?
No, tickets are not required. Entrance is also free to the general public, so please do encourage friends and family to come along and watch. Of course this depends on Covid-19 guidance at the time of the show.
How far is the Stable Field from the arenas?
It is approximately a five minute walk.
Are there places to eat and drink on the showground?
During the competition there will be catering outlets open serving a selection of hot and cold food and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The Clubhouse Bar and Grill will also be open on Thursday 20th May for the duration of the show, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Is the showground easy to find?
Please note this Premier League is part of the All England Jumping Course run by Hickstead Ltd with stabling and arenas in a different area of the showground to the former Dressage at Hickstead site. Please follow access directions carefully. There are different accesses for horseboxes and for cars.
What are the directions for those arriving by horsebox?
From the north – Post Code RH17 5NU Travel south on the A23. Take the slip road off the A23 towards Burgess Hill A2300 towards Hickstead Village/Ricebridge. At the roundabout take the 4th exit back over the A23. At the roundabout go straight ahead onto Hickstead Lane, then turn left immediately into the private entrance to Hickstead and follow the signs for the horsebox park/Stable Field. From the south – Postcode RH17 5NU Leave the A23 at the first turning past Hickstead signposted A2300 for Burgess Hill. At the top of the slip road turn left into Hickstead Lane at the roundabout, then turn left immediately into the private entrance to Hickstead and follow the signs for the horsebox park/Stable Field.
What are the directions for those arriving by car?
From the north - Post Code BN6 9NS Travel south on the A23 Pass the Burgess Hill / Hickstead Village turn-off Take the next exit sign posted the B2118 and bear right over the fly-over. Take the third exit off the roundabout. The entrance to the showground is approximately 100 metres on the left. From the south - Post Code BN6 9NS Leave the A23 at the junction marked B2118 to Hurstpierpoint. At the top of the slip road turn left After 200 metres turn right on the B2118. Follow the B2118 for approximately 2.5 miles. The entrance to the showground is approximately 100 metres on the left, after the third roundabout.
