Get closer to the action at the Hickstead Derby Meeting

Whether you're a die-hard showjumping fanatic, a regular on the show circuit or a total newcomer to horses, Hickstead Derby Meeting (26-29 June 2014) has something to appeal to everyone. And the best way to get the most of a visit to the All England Jumping Course is to join the Hickstead Derby Community and be part of its most famous class - the Derby.

This year, in a new and innovative approach to sponsorship, Hickstead has teamed up with their new title sponsor to create the exclusive Hickstead Derby Community. By joining the Community, fans of horse sport are able to show their support for the Hickstead Derby and become official partners of the class.

By purchasing the Hickstead Derby Community polo shirt, which is priced at just £24.99, fans are given automatic membership of the Community. The shirt comes with a free members' ticket for Thursday 26 June (worth £26), and there are lots of other benefits too, including the opportunity to upgrade to a special hospitality area overlooking the International Arena, plus entry into a competition for a VIP weekend at Hickstead and the chance to present the famous Boomerang Trophy to the winner of the Derby.

Members will receive a special e-Newsletter, which gives them exclusive discounts and offers. There will also be the opportunity to win a special Derby course walk for members of the Community, where they'll be able to hear all about the famous fences from one of this year's competitors.

"This year marks the 54th anniversary of the first Hickstead Derby, and more than five decades later it remains as popular as ever," says Hickstead Director Lizzie Bunn. "We hope Hickstead's supporters will really get behind this year's Derby and be part of its legacy."

The Derby is the biggest and best class at Hickstead's June meeting, but whatever day you choose to visit the All England Jumping Course there'll be something to entertain. The action in the International Arena begins on Thursday 26 June, with The Stoner Jewellers Vase, a thrilling speed class, while in the Bunn Leisure Derby Tankard the fences go up to 1.50m. Friday morning's feature class is the Bunn Leisure Derby Trial. With the top 35 qualifying for the Derby, competition is always fierce and spectators will get a good idea of who to support in Sunday's finale - especially as they jump some of the same fences as in the Derby itself. Saturday's main event is the British Speed Derby, where horses and riders tackle Hickstead's permanent obstacles at speed - including the Irish bank and the less steep side of the Derby Bank.

Throughout the show there are showjumping classes for all levels, from grassroots and young horses up to international level. There are showing classes for cobs, riding horses, small hunters, mountain & moorlands, hacks, working hunters, ridden hunters, coloured horses and ponies, plus the popular Tattersalls/RoR championship for retrained racehorses. Scurry driving and private driving both feature, and there's the popular Celebrity Donkey Derby plus a high-goal polo match held on the Saturday evening, which is the place to go to rub shoulders with showjumping's elite.

But even if you don't know much about horses, there's still plenty to appeal with a visit to the All England Jumping Course. Children can enjoy our fairground rides, while people of all ages can spend hours browsing the Charles Owen Shopping Village. As well as a food village, there's a plethora of restaurants, bars and hospitality options to choose from - or you could just opt to bring a picnic and enjoy a day out in the beautiful West Sussex countryside.

For prospective Hickstead competitors, entries are open now and will close on Monday 19 May. Click here to buy tickets or click here to join the Hickstead Derby Community.
