Recruiting Excellence claim Arundel Equine Hospital Polo Match

Despite severe weather warnings beforehand, not a drop of rain or snow fell on Sunday's Arundel Equine Hospital Match, which saw Recruiting Excellence, a 6-goal team, take on Hincha Pelota (5 goals) in what was to be a competitive match.

The game got off to a strong start for Hincha Pelota. Patron Chas Taylor was on form with his penalties, taking his team to a four goal lead within the first few minutes. With some great marking from Alex Grant, Recruiting Excellence only managed to sneak in two goals in the first chukka.

Going into chukka two, 4-goaler Matt Pannell soon scored a quick three goals for Pelota but this was closely followed by 3 goals from Recruiting Excellence.

There was a quick change to the scoreboard when Daniel Acosta, who was sitting calmly at the back, scored a brilliant 2-pointer followed by a further four goals, with the help of Brad Shackleton bringing the score to 12 apiece.

Chukka four started with the two teams neck and neck, but the crowd were keen for Hincha Pelota - who had led up until that point - to get the elusive winning goal. However, with only a minute left on the clock, Recruiting Excellence stepped up a gear and saw Acosta sneak in a final goal, making them winners of the Arundel Match.
