Hickstead seeks photography intern for our international shows

Would you like to experience working in the Hickstead Press Office?

The All England Jumping Course at Hickstead is looking for a talented photography intern to help with the 2019 season and work during our two international shows.

If you have a keen interest in photography and excellent equestrian knowledge, then we want to hear from you! You must be available for both shows, the Al Shira'aa Hickstead Derby Meeting (19-23 June) and the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ of Great Britain at the Longines Royal International Horse Show (23-28 July).

Photography intern

We're looking for a keen photography enthusiast to act as a photographic assistant. This is an introductory role, so best suited to students or recent graduates. You must be 18 or over.

Your role will include gathering, uploading and editing images from our official photographer, sourcing images for our social media pages, and acting as a runner between the press office and the official photographer. You will also spend some time each day taking photos, including access to the International Arena.

Applicants need to have their own photography equipment (such as a Canon 5d or equivalent, plus an array of lenses including a wide lens). You must be able to use Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop, and be familiar with all social media platforms.

The hours are long and the work is hard - but if you're up for the challenge you'll get amazing experience to add to your CV, and the opportunity to be part of one of the most famous horse shows in the world. A fixed day rate to cover expenses is paid. Accommodation is not included so the successful applicant will ideally live within commuting distance of the All England Jumping Course and hold a driving licence.

How to apply

To apply, please email press@hickstead.co.uk with your CV, a covering letter and two images:

  • An equestrian action image
  • A natural portrait image

Applications close on 15 March 2019.
