Two riders who were part of Great Britain’s bronze-medal winning showjumping team at the world championships are among those entered for the All England September Tour at Hickstead.

Ben Maher, who also finished fourth individually at the championships in Herning earlier this month, is due to compete at the show, alongside his team mate Scott Brash. With entry and parking free to spectators, it gives British fans a chance to see two of our most successful riders ever compete on home turf with some of their up and coming rides.

Other notable names who have entered Hickstead’s two-week show include Shane Breen, who has enjoyed a fabulous season at his home showground, with wins in the Al Shira’aa Derby in June and the Queen Elizabeth II Cup in July. Shane’s brother Trevor also lines up for the event, and he is another to watch after a strong fourth place finish in the prestigious Longines King George V Gold Cup.

Another Hickstead regular to return to Hickstead for the final event of the season is Harriet Biddick. Harriet has also had plenty of success at the showground this year, with wins in the Derby Trial and the Speed Derby, as well as finishing runner-up in the Al Shira’aa Derby. Other big names to look out for include four-time Derby winner William Funnell, Ireland’s David Simpson and top event rider Gemma Stevens (nee Tattersall).

The All England Jumping Tour takes place over two weeks, with competition getting underway on Wednesday 31 August and running until Sunday 11 September, with a two day break on Monday and Tuesday (5-6 September). There are classes going from 90cm up to a 1.40m Grand Prix, with £40,000 worth of prizemoney on offer across the two weeks of the show. In addition to affiliated showjumping classes, there is also Arena Eventing from 80cm to 1m in height on the final Sunday.

Aside from the equestrian action, the show will also feature a small selection of trade stands, plus pop-up street food stands. The Champagne bar and terrace will be open throughout, with various dining options to choose from along with an excellent view of the action.
